Dear Friends,
I want to begin by saying what an incredible honor it is to serve as your State Senator for Texas Senate District 27! This year, we completed the 89th Regular Session of the Texas Legislature, and I am proud to report that it was one of the most productive and successful sessions to date. In Texas, the Legislature meets every other year for 140 days, which means we have a limited window to accomplish a significant amount of important work on behalf of the people we serve. Thanks to strong teamwork and collaboration between the Texas House and the Texas Senate, we were able to pass meaningful legislation that strengthens our state, protects our freedoms, and improves the lives of Texans across every corner of this great state.
From delivering historic property tax relief to investing in public education, infrastructure, and border security, this session brought real and lasting results. We also took important steps to support small businesses, expand workforce opportunities, and strengthen the values that make Texas the best place to live, work, and raise a family. None of this would have been possible without the willingness of legislators to come together, set aside differences, and focus on what matters most, which is serving the people of Texas. I am proud of the role I played in helping to shape these policies and proud of what we achieved together.
I want to welcome you to this newsletter, where you will find more details about the key accomplishments of this session, and get a glimpse at what is to come. I hope you will take the time to read through it, stay informed, and stay engaged. My door is always open, and I encourage you to share your ideas, concerns, and feedback, as we continue working to build a stronger future for our district and for Texas.
